I also use a percentage of the bank type staking but I don't cut stakes after a losing, it seems crazy to me to have less on a winner after backing a loser. To operate like this though the bank has to be strong enough to withstand the losers and still allow the full stakes when a winner comes along.
Best of luck.
At the moment I'm looking at being a bit more aggresive in the staking department, at the moment up to odds of 3.5 1% of bank, 3.55 to 7.2 0.6% of bank and 7.4 to 11.0 0.4% of bank, the problem is very few selections are under 3.5 most fall in at arond 4.5 to 7.8 so I'm looking for something to take advantage of this.
I also have confidence in the method I use (famous last words) for selections which helps and being able to watch live betting, something I can't always do, also helps.

Overall I feel confident with it at the moment.
I know you probably make money opposing the longer ones but from a psychological point of view I find laying at long odds tough. When I do play (and its usually dogs rather than horses for me) I try to oppose 'em at 4.0 or less, when the odd one goes in I can cope with it mentally and it doesn't kill my bank. I guess staking levels play their part too but it'd be interesting to know what you think.
Im not totally convinced myself,I thought long and hard before doing it then I thought why not if it works it works if it fails I go into hiding.
I feel a lot happier now since I made some changes mid January, not near as many selections but hopefully better quality, time will tell.

I'm still not convinced that going public with selections is the right thing, I feel even more stupid tipping up a loser in print but it does make you look at your betting in a different way and its a good way of keeping a record of what you're doing.
